Meet our Founder

Hey! I’m Toluwanimi, a college student and mentor. Over the past 3 years, I have helped my students (both U.S. students and internationals) to get admitted to their dream colleges, win HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of scholarship dollars, and launch their career journeys. I am excited to empower you to do the same. The resources on this site contain the same tips and advice I share with my mentees.

What's in a Name?

When I decided to create resources to empower students beyond my circle of mentees, I thought about what to name them for a long time. At first, I chose a name that I loved, until I learned it was already taken! For the Eighth Time came to me after spending some time in prayer. I recalled this verse: “For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, but the wicked shall fall by calamity” - Proverbs 24:16.

I know this to be true firsthand. From my own college admissions and career journey, as well as my time as a mentor, I recognize that it is tempting to give up when you experience hardships. I have learned that no matter how many times you fail, what matters is that you get up. No matter how many times you fall, you still have the choice to rise again. The question is, will you? There is still hope left for you, if you do not give up on yourself.
